Abstract

Phenomena which can be observed in contemporary rural areas require not only observation and description, but deserve treating them in a new way. Hitherto used categories (of cultural participation, localism or cultural practices) do not encompass the specific perception of culture, which is more and more common also in rural inhabitants. In today’s humanities the term “experience” is employed with success, as it enables to combine intellectual perception with emotional and corporeal perceptions. This article presents assumptions of that new approach, by showing its usefulness in relation to rural communities.
