The scientific journal “Wieś i Rolnictwo” [Village & Agriculture] received funding from the Ministry of Education and Science (Ministry of Science and Higher Education) under the programme "Development of Scientific Journals” (project number RCN/SP/0473/2021/1). The amount of funding received was PLN 68 591.

The aim of the project was to implement activities aimed at raising the level of publishing and editorial practices and increasing the prestige of the Journal in international scientific circulation. The project implementation period was 24 months.

The objectives of the project, consistent with the adopted Strategy for the Development of the journal “Wieś i Rolnictwo” [Village & Agriculture] until 2025, include:

1. increasing the prestige of the magazine by improving the quality of publishing and editorial practices through:

- expanding the scope of the journal's deposition in the Crossref database to include assigning DOI numbers not only to articles but also to article components (tables, figures), including appendix bibliographies and implementing the Cited-By script, which will allow information on the current number of citations of articles and their components to be displayed next to individual articles. These measures are part of the policy against the practice of “Predatory journals”;

- implementation of technology used to ensure the originality of an article before publication by purchasing access to the Crossref Similarity Check tool, which will allow verification of content for plagiarism;

- covering professional linguistic proofreading of articles in English and Polish and translation of Polish articles into English in English-language issues of the journal.

2. increasing the internationalisation and recognition of the quarterly in the international discourse by:

- adapting and applying for indexing in international databases: SCOPUS, Web o Science, DOAJ, including the development, translation into English and registration of policies: publishing, preservation, archiving and anti-plagiarism;

- maintaining the indexation of the journal in the Central and East European Online Library (CEEOL) database, - optimising the quality of the journal's homepage by proofreading the English version.

3. making the journal more accessible to readers by increasing its visibility and networking by:

- creating an infrastructure to expand the ways in which the journal can be disseminated by creating new access points in the POLONA digital library, the ACADEMICA Digital Lending Library of Scientific Publications and the Digital Repository of Scientific Institutes.
