Everyone has the right to demand digital accessibility of a website, an application or an element thereof. You may also request access to information via an alternative mode of access, e.g. reading of a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a film lacking audio description, etc. Such a request should include the data of the person making the request, an indication of the website or mobile application concerned, and the method of contact. If the person in question indicates a need to receive information via an alternative mode of access, they should also specify the preferred form of that information. The public entity should fulfil the request promptly, no later than 7 days from the date of the request. If this deadline is impossible to meet, the public entity must promptly inform the person making the request of the date when it will be possible to fulfil their request, where that date may not be later than 2 months from the date of the request. If it is impossible to ensure digital accessibility, the public entity may suggest an alternative mode of access to the information. If the public entity refuses to fulfil a request to ensure accessibility or an alternative mode of access to information, the person making the request may file a complaint regarding ensuring digital accessibility of the given website, mobile application, or element of the website or mobile application. After the above procedure has been exhausted, you may also file a complaint with the Polish Ombudsman.

Architectural Accessibility

Head office of IRWiR PAN: Warsaw, 72 Nowy Świat St.

The head office of the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of the Polish Academy of Sciences is located on the second floor of Staszic Palace in Warsaw. Due to the historic nature of the building, its architectural accessibility is very limited. The entrance to the building, on the Nowy Świat Street side, is accessed via a single step without a ramp. The cloakroom is located to the left, while the reception desk is located to the right of the entrance. Past the reception desk, on the right, there is a lift that can accommodate a wheelchair user. On the second floor, by the lift, there is a noticeboard with the layout of the rooms on this floor. Part of the corridor on the second floor (except the Library) is accessed via stairs without a ramp. There is a disabled parking space in front of the building.
